ROBERT CULLEN: Many clients when they come to me are either misinformed or underinformed. The employer doesn't have an answer for them. They don't want to give the answer for them. The insurance adjustor is not worried about the employee's needs. They're worried about the insurance carrier's needs. And so when they come to me, they only have half answers or half truths. And that's something that I try to resolve really quickly for them.
What normally happens is that the employee never realizes that they have a claim in the first place. And they don't bother pursuing any workers' compensation claims. They get put off on unemployment comp. They get put off on public welfare. And one of the things that I try to do on a regular basis is to inform people that they have the opportunity to come in for a free legal consult so that they know what their rights are.
What I bring to the table for my clients is a unique perspective, a unique viewpoint on each of the files because of my background working for the injured employees, the employers, the insurance carriers, and the judges. I also know how the system works because of that background.
